Introducing Monarch, A Regal Mobile-First Theme
The second quarter of 2016 saw Einstein Medical launch 27 new websites and a new mobile-first theme. Following Plaza and Vertex, Monarch is the third of our Thesis themes, which are primarily designed to serve those using mobile devices. This additional theme helps clients take advantage of a true mobile-first design while providing new opportunities to incorporate their branding and personality.
While Plaza and Vertex employ a mostly white background with dashes of a tastefully limited color scheme, Monarch uses a black background, a bold white typeface, and a variable color scheme with handsome gold accents to convey an entirely different air of elegance. As the user scrolls, the background varies between black, a textured background that looks like velvet fabric, and and a soft-focus version of an image provided by the client. This helps make the journey from the top to the bottom of the page atmospheric and engaging. All the while, the bold white typeface is easy to read against every background variation.
Our Thesis themes are initially designed to provide an engaging and persuasive user experience on small mobile screens. However, the desktop experience is no less compelling. For example, a quick visit to both the mobile and desktop versions of Chrisman & Wyse’s dentistry site demonstrate the way that elements presented in a linear path for scrolling on a mobile device unfold into horizontal configurations, but with a graceful symmetry that places the site’s many offerings in an easily comprehendible formation more attuned to a large screen. This symmetry is offset by blocks of primary colors staggered behind photos of patients and staff, contributing to a fun and approachable mood that provides an inviting complement to the precision of the page layouts.
The striking appearance and usability of our sites continued to intrigue clients and foster the acquisition of new clients, and the months to come would see the introduction of many new templates within the Thesis family.
